NOTICE – SOCIAL SERVICES COUPON DISTRIBUTION/GRAND BAHAMA – Department of Social Services Director Dorothea Gomez said in a press conference on Wednesday that the distribution of vouchers is being restructured as the Department of Social Services transitions to online services.
The month-end vouchers will be available as follows: Elderly and disabled people will be helped from May 23 to 27. Registration will open at 8am, when customers must show their National Insurance smart card to access the service. To avoid added stress, elderly and disabled customers can collect their vouchers on any day.
All other social services clients are asked to note the dates provided and will be processed as follows: May 30 – Last Names A through L; May 31 – Last Names M through Q; June 1 – Last Names R through Z. Registration hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Customers are advised that if they are unable to collect their vouchers in person, they should provide a letter of authorisation to a nominated person to collect their vouchers. The person collecting the vouchers must hold official identification (National Insurance card, Voter’s card, Driver’s licence or passport).
