The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden will provide Ukraine with an additional package of military aid worth $125 million. The Associated Press (AP) reported the news, citing White House sources.

The package will include missiles for air defense systems, ammunition for the HIMARS rocket launch system, mobile and other anti-tank Javelin and other systems, anti-UAV systems and equipment, 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition, vehicles and other equipment, the agency reported.

The AP noted that the supply comes as Washington works to “better understand Russia’s incursion into Kiev.”

Pentagon representative Sabrina Singh said at the briefing that despite Kiev’s explanation, the United States still has doubts about the purpose and objectives of Ukraine’s actions in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

“As for the goal, I’ll tell you what (Ukrainian President) Zelensky announced a few days ago. It’s creating a buffer zone. There are doubts about that,” Singh said.

According to him, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin intends to communicate with Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov on all these issues. On August 6, Ukrainian troops invaded the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

Ukraine said it had taken control of 92 settlements covering an area of 1,259 square meters. Russian troops also reported progress near the city of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine.
