this 3D Country Terrain Model (3DNTM) Data Cooperation Announcement (DCA) is working with the U.S. Geological Survey and other federal agencies to obtain high-resolution 3D Elevation and 3D Hydrology These partnerships foster nationwide collaboration to meet the growing demand for high-quality elevation and hydrological data that benefit society across a range of nationally significant applications, including flood risk management, alternative energy development, natural hazard assessment and mitigation, agriculture, and conservation.
In addition to the USGS grant, up to $1 million will be provided under the Inflation Reduction Act for investments in 3DEP projects in FY 2025.
“We would not be where we are today without the support of our partners,” said Dr. Michael Tischler, Director of the USGS National Geospatial Program. “Collaboration is critical to the success of 3DNTM, and we value all project submissions we receive through the DCA.”
Applicants can donate to the Geospatial Products and Services Contracts Or they can apply for 3DEP or 3DHP funds for data collection, where the requestor partner manages the data collection contract. Federal agencies, state and local governments, tribes, academic institutions, and the private sector are eligible to submit projects through DCA.
Project submissions will be due by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on September 13, 2024.
