ABACO | Police are investigating reports of a missing plane that took off from Sebastian, Florida, on Sunday, August 4, 2024.
According to initial reports, a male pilot flying a two-seater plane with white, red and blue stripes took off from Florida at around 9 a.m. and failed to reach its intended destination, Marsh Harbour on Abaco Island.
The aircraft’s last known location was north of Grand Bahama Island shortly before 11 a.m.; however, efforts to contact the pilot were unsuccessful.
A search and rescue operation has been launched in collaboration with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and the United States Coast Guard to locate the missing aircraft.
