This tree, called the “Gulu Cedar”, is located in the suburbs of Ifrane Province in the central Atlas Mountains. It has become one of the most important tourist attractions in Morocco and is also one of the most famous and oldest trees in Morocco. It is estimated to be around 800 years old, with a length of 45 meters and a circumference of 6 meters.

Although there are other long-lived cedar trees in the area, this tree remains the most famous and common because its roots stay close to the ground while its dead branches still embrace the space, untouched by time and human intervention.
