The third edition of Katara Space Science Program ends

The third Katara Space Science Program, organized by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) in partnership with the international company MAPS, ended today after three days of activities for researchers, students, and those interested in space and astronomy.
The program was held at the Thuraya Astronomical Dome in Katara and was attended by more than 600 participants, including students of different nationalities, age groups, education levels and educational institutions from schools and universities, in addition to many researchers and people interested in science and scientific research from the government and private sectors.
The events included numerous interactive activities and scientific sessions covering topics related to the James Webb Space Telescope, and involved scientists and experts from NASA, the Canadian Space Agency and the University of Sharjah.
The program included lectures and live interactions with these experts, giving participants the opportunity to directly interact with experiments in the field of space science, including the construction of a square scientific refracting telescope using concave and convex lenses, and stargazing activities to observe celestial bodies, including the moon, planets and constellations. More than 300 telescopes were successfully built during the conference.
A space art exhibition combining science and art was also held at the same time, showcasing wonderful paintings and photographic artworks inspired by space themes by 21 participating artists, as well as original prints and 3D art displays from NASA.
It is worth noting that the Katara Space Science Program is an initiative of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) in collaboration with the international company MAPS, with the aim of providing a platform for students, researchers, and members interested in space science, technology, awareness and education in society, and promoting science.
