As of August 30, 2024, 34,780 first-year students were registered in the electronic system for admission of first-year students, hayt.emis.am. This information was reported by the news department of KGSMN.
It is important to note that this number will change as schools complete the process.
“Based on the birth rate of the corresponding age group, it is estimated that 42,000 students can enter the first grade this year. The message pointed out that parents of first-grade students must submit documents to the school before September 5 (inclusive).
For comparison, we note that last year 23,589 students were registered for first year (2022: 39,117).
Overall, according to preliminary data, there will be 409,996 students studying in public schools in the 2024-25 school year.
From the 2024-2025 academic year, 7 levels of educational institutions implementing the RA General Education State General Program will organize education according to the new standards: second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and tenth. 252,760 students will study in the above-mentioned classes.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, the new national standards for preschool education will be implemented in 190 institutions. For this purpose, 23 tutor preschool education institutions were selected to carry out training.
To add, eight new schools will be operational in September, six of which are modular schools. These schools cater to 1,392 students. This year, 1,012 students will attend. RA has a total of 1,401 schools, of which 540 are in urban areas and 861 in rural areas.
