The new general national policy presented yesterday by Prime Minister Christian Ensay to the National Assembly is based on three fundamental pillars. They are human resources, the development of industry and commerce, and good governance. The event was characterized by active exchanges and constructive debates around the main axes of this policy, while noting the notable absence of opposition parliamentary groups.

Training and developing the country’s human capital is seen as an important lever for economic and social development, and its importance particularly concerns the development of human resources. Measures will be taken to strengthen workers’ skills, especially through training programs adapted to market needs.

Special emphasis was also placed on the need to promote industrialization and support the business sector to diversify the Madagascar economy. The government plans to facilitate access to credit for entrepreneurs and build appropriate infrastructure to encourage investment and job creation.

Prime Minister Christian Ensay stressed that transparency and integrity of institutions are prerequisites for building citizen trust and promoting a healthy business environment. Reforms will be implemented to improve the management of public affairs and strengthen the fight against corruption.

The Prime Minister’s speech triggered various proposals from the delegates, especially from the presidents of the different parliamentary groups, aimed at enriching public policies and ensuring lasting solutions to the country’s challenges. However, the Opposition Parliamentary Group was absent from the meeting, with its Vice President expressing reservations about the format and content of the government’s speech.

As the country aspires to implement these major strategic directions, the remaining events will be closely watched.
