Tegucigalpa – National Assembly President Luis Redondo convened an emergency meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Monday.
The appeal stated that an urgent meeting was held within the framework of the Radical Action Against Crime Solutions program.
Representatives of the standing committee will meet at 9 a.m. this Tuesday.
The standing committee was appointed to deal with the emergency while MPs are on holiday this month.
There has been no need to convene a standing committee so far, but the Congress president feels that the issue of anti-crime solutions needs to be addressed urgently.
It should be noted that the appointment of this commission was made at a time when its legitimacy was subject to considerable criticism, since the organic law only provides for the appointment of a commission at the end of the legislature. (RO)
