The Nicola Vatel Ballet performed with the Frode Pino Marimba Orchestra and the Carlos Baltodano Orchestra for a week at the Confolens International Arts Festival in France, performing more than 30 musical works.

The event, which has been held since 1957, brings together more than 600 artists from five continents as part of a cultural exchange full of color and camaraderie among musicians and dancers.

Maestro Manuel Briceño, director of the Nicaraguan Ballet Huatl, told Tu Nueva Radio via zoom that this was the first time that the 30 folkloric ambassadors of the ballet company had participated in such an important event to represent Nicaragua through dance.

He said that throughout the festival, everyone’s wonderful speeches were highly praised.

Briceño added that one of the most exciting moments of the tour was when they managed to blend in with the drums of the Ugandan delegation and the percussion of the Dominican Republic.

“Our experience was a wonderful one, memorable and full of learning,” the teacher said.

On July 21, the Niagarahuatl Folkloric Ballet celebrated its 30th anniversary with a show at the Rubén Darío National Theater with the participation of more than 150 artists.
