Tegucigalpa – The National Party believes that the arrest of Judge Marco Valesillo exposes shocking levels of corruption in the judiciary.
In a statement, he noted that the detained judge was a member of the Liberty and Reconstruction Party (Libre) and was accused of colluding with other members of the current government to solicit bribes.
He blamed the Liberal Party leadership, including its advisers, for leaving the country unprotected and completely insecure.
The National Party said that despite the Honduran people’s calls for justice and security, the senior leaders of the Liberal Party “proved to be a group of criminals” and promoted the top “families” instead of fighting corruption.
He demanded transparency and impartiality in the judiciary and the public sector.
He urged an end to executive branch interference in other branches of the state and urged the people to have a government that would protect their rights.
