Department of Regional Development warns against fakes Travel Agency According to him, she had no business license, not even bankruptcy insurance, and had forged documents.
“The company, Expert Agency Ltd., does not have and has never had a license to operate a travel agency or a valid, legally required bankruptcy insurance. To increase credibility, at the same time, it sends its customers, upon request, an insurance policy that allegedly proves that insurance was purchased in the event of the travel agency’s bankruptcy,” warned Karolína Nová, spokeswoman for the Ministry.
But the policy was actually signed with another Czech travel agency that does not cooperate with the expert agency.
According to the ministry, the practice of expert agencies misleads travelers, saying that if they go bankrupt, the insurance company will help them find alternative accommodation and ensure their return to their home country. In this case, even tourists who did not participate in the tour and paid a deposit or the entire tour will not be refunded.
The expert agency offers Slovak-language tours on the website dovolenpaprimori.eu. According to the ministry, this gives the impression that the fraud targets mainly Slovaks. “We warn against buying any tours on the aforementioned website. We will pass on the results of our investigation to the law enforcement authorities,” Nova added on behalf of the ministry.
This is the second case this year. In March, the ministry issued a warning against the suspected travel agency MNG, which also did not have an operating license and valid bankruptcy insurance. Therefore, the office recommends all travelers to always check their travel insurance before choosing a vacation. The list can be found at: website Department of Regional Development.
Travel agencies that organize tours should provide proof of bankruptcy insurance on their websites. When a customer buys a tour from an intermediary, he should also show proof that the tour operator actually has a valid insurance policy.
