The Ministry of Transport announced that the registration for the first grade of maritime vocational high school has started for the 2024-2025 school year.
Khaled Al-Shammat, the director of vocational and technical education at the ministry, explained in a statement to SANA that differentiated registration starts on Sunday, August 11, and ends at the end of official working hours on Tuesday, August 27, at the headquarters of the Marine High School in the governorates of Latakia and Tartus.
Al-Shammat stated that admission to the “Navigation and Marine Mechanics” specialty has been determined for 205 students, distributed among 140 students in Latakia and 65 students in Tartus, indicating that the admission process is completely based on the comparison of the number of seats needed in each province.
He explained that he will accept applications from students holding certificates of basic or preparatory sharia education for the 2024 curriculum, as well as students holding the same certificates for the 2023-2024 academic year who were not previously enrolled in the 2022-2023 academic year. He called on students to go to the secondary school headquarters in Tartus or Latakia to obtain the necessary identity documents, given the age requirement.
Al-Shammat pointed out that graduates receive an internationally recognized maritime qualification certificate in addition to the vocational secondary certificate recognized by the ministry, and interested students receive an internationally recognized maritime qualification certificate in accordance with the conditions for issuing the certificate issued by the Maritime Administration under the supervision of a specialized agency for training personnel.
