NASSAU | On Wednesday morning, Bahamian media identified the victim of the country’s 77th homicide as former U.S. Army deportee Anton Swain.

He and another man were shot inside a nightclub on Grand Bahama Island, where Sunrise Highway is located, where Swain worked as a security guard.

The incident occurred when a gunman (who is out on bail and is currently in police custody) walked into the premises in the early hours of the morning and killed Swain, leaving another man in a critical condition.

Swain was born in the Bahamas but grew up in the United States. The father of three was deported back to the Bahamas after finding himself drawn into a life of crime. Swain was reportedly trying to rebuild his life in Grand Bahama and was not the target of the early morning shooting.

The gunman is said to have cut off his leg irons and is wandering the streets, violating his bail conditions. Well, at this rate, maybe the judges in Jupiter will grant him bail again and let him relive the violence. Ah, well!

We report yinner’s decision!
