Attracted by the incredible salaries and job opportunities in online businesses, these Moroccans, like thousands of other foreigners, fell into the trap. Instead of the modern offices they were promised, they were forced to work in inhumane conditions and were exploited for online fraud and extortion.

“It’s a relief,” said Fadwa, the sister of one of the survivors, thanking the authorities and international organizations for their tireless work for their release.
While celebrating the return of their loved ones, the families of the victims remain mobilized to give voice to other hostages still held and to expose abuses committed in these camps.
The 11 survivors are now safe and sound in Thailand, awaiting repatriation.
