His opponent was world No. 7 Hubert Hurkacz. The meeting lasted three sets – 2 hours and 55 minutes. All matches went in favor of the Polish athlete.

Skatov had three aces, seven doubles and 40 unforced errors.
Notably, Skatov became the only Kazakh player to advance in the U.S. Open qualifying round.
