On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Journalists Union, the Journalists Union held a central celebration at the Assad Library in Damascus, in the presence of Prime Minister Engineer Hussein Anos and some important figures. The journalist corps was honored.
Prime Minister Hussein Anos said in a press statement that journalists are fighters for words, truth and truth, they are the voice of the people. He noted that Syria has always been a pioneer in regulating various professional issues (today we celebrate to recognize the media personage who has made contributions during her work in state institutions).
Engineer Anos said: Today, we celebrate this precious moment and pay tribute to media figures whose future generations will not forget the contributions they provided during their time working in national media institutions.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Syrian Union of Journalists, the Prime Minister congratulated all visual, audio and print media workers, noting that Syria is always a pioneer in regulating various industries.
Moussa Abdel Nour, president of the Journalists Union, said: Celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Journalists Union is a great moment, and two things have special importance: first, today is the fiftieth anniversary. The second is divided into two parts: Part I: Tribute to the souls of media martyrs who sacrificed themselves to defend justice and truth / Part II: Praise for pioneers. He stressed that Syrian journalists are committed to the problems of their homeland and citizens and practice their profession professionally.
Media personality Raeda Waqaf: She noted that journalists never retire from their profession, but this is a station that pays tribute to retired colleagues, today is the fiftieth anniversary of their union, so we want to express our gratitude to you for giving everything with your pen and conscience, for this profession, for being a word, they gave everything. During the ceremony, a group of journalists were awarded commemorative shields and praised for their efforts during their media careers.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Boutros Al-Hallaq, Minister of Information, Dr. Busena Shaaban, Special Advisor to the President of the Republic, Engineer Samir Khadr, members of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, the Governor of Damascus and its countryside, and several ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
