His Highness the Amir also participated in the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Joint Summit held in the city of Riyadh, the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, together with his brothers, Their Majesties, Excellencies, Highnesses and Excellencies, Heads of State and Heads of Delegations. In his speech on November 11 this year, His Highness the Amir mentioned that before the summit, our Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip were experiencing the atrocities of the Israeli war machine, which is unbearable for humanity.
His Highness the Emir of Qatar affirmed that the State of Qatar firmly supports the steadfast position of the brotherly Palestinian people and their just cause, and continues to provide support together with partners in the region and the international community. Despite Israel’s continued stubborn obstruction of the delivery of humanitarian aid, and efforts to speed up the delivery of aid to those in need, and clearly demanded the permanent opening of safe humanitarian crossing points to provide aid to the victims without any obstacles and conditions. Opposes the arbitrary use of humanitarian aid and the threat of bombing as a means of pressure and political blackmail, and emphasizes that aid must be delivered to all areas of the Gaza Strip.

For six weeks, Doha has become a non-sleeping communication cell, visited by dignitaries and ministers from all over the world. In this context, His Highness the Emir of the country received the friendly Secretary of State of the United States of America, His Excellency Mr. Antony Blinken, at the Lusail Palace on October 13 last year, during which a number of regional representatives discussed international issues of common concern, in particular the developments in the Palestinian territories and their impact on the humanitarian situation.
In the interview, His Highness the Amir stressed the importance of efforts to reduce escalation, open safe corridors in the Gaza Strip for relief and humanitarian efforts, and ensure that violence does not expand in the region. He condemned the firm stance against civilians.
On October 29 last year, His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received at the office of the Emir Diwan the successive developments in the Gaza Strip and the impact of the humanitarian situation. Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of the Caretaker Government of the sister Lebanese Republic, during the discussions between His Highness the Emir of the country and his brother, His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, at the meeting held at the Lusail Palace on November 1 this year, the two sides also exchanged views on advancing regional and international diplomatic efforts, calling for an immediate ceasefire, and working towards a just and comprehensive peace. In this regard, His Highness stressed the firm position of the State of Qatar on the Palestinian issue and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, especially their right to establish an independent Palestinian State on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, the basis of the two-State solution, and condemned all violations of the Palestinian people and their land and its sanctity, which undermine a fair solution to the issue. His Majesty the King of Jordan expressed gratitude and appreciation to His Highness for his continuous support for the Palestinian cause and just Arab causes.
The situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, regional and international diplomatic efforts calling for an immediate ceasefire, the protection of civilians in Gaza and serious work towards a just and comprehensive peace on the question of Palestine were also discussed during a discussion held by His Highness on November 15, 2017, between the Emir of the Republic of South Africa and His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa, at the Emir’s Diwan.
In the framework of the political efforts of the State of Qatar to support the Palestinian cause and alleviate the suffering of civilians in the Gaza Strip, His Highness the Amir received at the office of the Amir Diwan on different dates a number of high-level officials visiting Doha, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Mr. Hakan Fidan, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Excellency Dr. Hussein Amir Abdollahian, who delivered verbal speeches to His Highness. The speech of His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, touched on a number of regional and international issues, particularly those related to the developments in the Palestinian territories.

Prime Minister and Foreign Minister His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani attended a coordination meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the State of Qatar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization held talks in Amman, the capital of Jordan on November 4, aimed at stopping the Israeli war on Gaza and its humanitarian disaster. On the same day, His Excellency also participated in a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Egypt and the Secretary General of the Palestine Liberation Organization, His Excellency Antony Blinken. The US State Department held a meeting in Amman, the capital of Jordan.
During the meeting, all consequences and ways to end the dangerous deterioration that threatens the security of the entire region were discussed, as well as the position of Arab countries demanding an immediate ceasefire and immediate emergency humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip.
The State of Qatar also participated in the Extraordinary Meeting of the Arab League Council at the Arab Foreign Ministers level, held in Cairo on October 11 last year, to consult and coordinate on how to stop the escalation and aggression in the Gaza Strip.
Prime Minister and Foreign Minister His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani led a delegation from the State of Qatar to attend an emergency meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries held in Muscat, the capital of Oman, on October 17 last year to discuss the situation in the Palestinian territories.
The calls between Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and the Foreign Ministers of many Arab, Islamic and friendly countries did not stop but were repeated. The number of visits to the State of Qatar in the last period was high, among which the Secretary-General of the United Nations, H.E. General Antonio Guterres, and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, H.E. Mr. Josep Borrell, visited the State of Qatar. He praised the efforts made by the State of Qatar in the region and internationally during this crisis.
During these contacts and meetings, the latest developments in the situation in the Palestinian territories and Israel and ways to de-escalate the situation were reviewed. His Excellency the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister expressed the State of Qatar’s deep concern over the escalation of violence on both sides and stressed the need to exercise maximum restraint. His Excellency also stressed the need for joint efforts to calm the situation, de-escalate the situation and spare civilians from the consequences of the confrontation. His Excellency stressed the need to continue to provide relief convoys and humanitarian assistance to our Palestinian brothers affected by the bombing.
Last October 21, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call from His Excellency Mr. Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America. During the call, the US Secretary of State reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the situation in the Palestinian territories and Israel and ways to de-escalate the situation. The State thanked the State of Qatar for its efforts to ensure the release of two American citizens from the Gaza Strip.
Therefore, Qatar has been conducting a series of communications, consultations and efforts uninterruptedly since day one, and is still continuing to do so with the highest-level officials in the region and the world in order to coordinate on the dangerous developments in the Gaza Strip and coordinate regional Doha left no room for error and expressed a firm position on the Palestinian issue, stressing that the only guarantee for achieving sustainable peace is a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue within the framework of the Arab Initiative and ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian State on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, while stressing that the absence of a just solution to the Palestinian issue will always be accompanied by the absence of peace in the Middle East, which imposes obligations and responsibilities on the international community to embody a just solution and turn it into reality.
