Tokayev learned about the economic, social and infrastructure development in the capital in the first half of this year.
Zhenis Kasimbek said that all the main economic indicators of the city showed positive dynamics. The investment volume exceeded 632 billion tenge. This is 13.2% higher than the same period last year. Projects in the fields of manufacturing, medicine, education, transportation and logistics are being actively implemented.
The President was informed about the construction of schools, affordable housing, medical centers, demolition of old houses in the state of emergency, development of residential areas, improvement of urban and landscaping. More than 20 schools and six dormitories for 4,500 students will be built this year. In addition, 170 courtyards and public places in the capital, namely parks, flower beds, flag paths, will be landscaped and about 70 streets will be renovated.
Akim from Astana spoke about the ongoing systemic works at the housing complex, the construction of which has been going on for a long time. 15,500 of the more than 16,000 shareholder families have been left homeless. The remaining shareholders will move into their apartments by the end of this year.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the preparations for the heating season. This year it is planned to start up the first phase of the Terman gas-fired thermal power plant, the second phase of the Turan gas-fired thermal power plant and the coal-fired part of the third phase of the hydroelectric power plant.
At the end of the meeting, Tokayev assigned a number of tasks, including developing the capital from a socio-economic perspective, beautifying the city, and carefully preparing for the 5th World Nomad Games.
