The Chief Administrative Officer of Kyenjojo District has been directed to task the District Service Commission to sack 25 rectors who were accused of providing forged diploma certificates to obtain jobs and remove them from the payroll.
The order was signed by the Deputy Inspector General of Government, Mrs Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe, following the conclusion of an investigation into the matter by the Inspectorate of Government, Fort Portal Regional Office. She also directed the CAO to refer the parish chief to the Kyenjojo Regional Commissioner of Police for further investigation into the matter and prosecution of the same officers.
The Kyenjojo District Local Government recruited 71 parish chiefs between September and October 2021. However, 25 of them were found to be in possession of forged diploma certificates, in violation of Regulation Ac (18) of the Civil Service Standing Orders 2021.
The diplomas were purportedly awarded by Pentecost University of Uganda, Kiambogo University, Bishop Stewart University, Moon Hill University, Nsamizi Social Development Training Institute, Kampala University, Makerere University, Kampala International University and Uganda Management Institute.
However, all these institutions denied the diploma transcripts produced and stated that they do not have any records related to the above mentioned persons.
