After a particularly heavy rainy day, this Saturday night’s performance was almost postponed. But luckily, the weather finally saved the artists. On the final night of Heiva I Tahiti 2024, O Na Teva e Va’u, Tamari’i Mataiea, Te Manu Ai’a and Tahina no Uturoa took turns on the To’ata stage. Relive their performances in pictures.
The ‘O Na Teva e Va’u company participated in Heiva I Tahiti for the first time, performing “The Sacrifice of Infinite Love”, telling the legendary story of Hina and Fa’aravai’anu’u. Led by the musicians of the orchestra and the singers, the dancers succeeded in conveying all their emotions to the audience.
After a four-year absence, singing group Tamari’i Mataiea returns to the To’ata stage to tell the story of “Vaiuriri, the Champion”.
Te Manu Ai’a was the final singing group to compete in the Heiva I Tahiti category. The singers sang in unison to tell the story of the Haitian twins, pâ raa mata’i.
Finally, on the last night of Heiva, the band Tahina no Uturoa lit up the stage. The troupe from Raiatia explored the theme of faith with the theme: “If God does not exist or is not rooted in your Mauhi identity, then who are you?” The dancers gave their all throughout, to thunderous applause and shouts of encouragement.
