El Novo Diary, Santo Domingo. – The increase in covid-19 cases is not a reason for the population to panic, the dean of the Dominican Medical School (CMD), Waldo Ariel Suero, assured this Wednesday, although he said we must remain vigilant and take precautions such as the use of masks, keeping distance, washing hands, etc., to maintain personal hygiene.

“We must realize that there has been a slight increase in covid-19 cases, but this does not mean that we have to scare the people, because this is unnecessary,” the union president said in a statement to the media.

He added: “We urge people to remain vigilant and take the precautions we all know to prevent the spread of the virus.”

He said that after the pandemic, Covid-19 became an endemic disease that could break out or reappear at any time.

“We can assure that as of today, there is no outbreak that could lead to saturation of the Covid-19 hospital network, so people should not feel fear or terror,” he noted.

He said the omicron subvariant circulating in the country does not pose a serious danger to people who may be infected.
