The Democratic Forces Platform will hold a signature campaign to put the EU membership issue to a referendum

The Zhoghovurd daily wrote: The “Platform of Democratic Forces”, a group of pro-Western forces in Armenia, plans to hold a signature collection campaign in August, calling for a referendum on Brexit.

As we previously reported, the platform presented a proposal to the National Assembly to hold a referendum, but Nikol Pashinyan rejected his pro-Western political forces and announced at the “Armenian Democratic Forum” on July 1 that Armenia will hold a referendum on EU membership will not be held, because he, as the head of state, already knows the opinion of the RA people. In fact, after being rejected by Pashinyan, the pro-Western forces decided to collect dividends from the people in the anti-Russian context created by Armenia.

They intend to launch a signature collection campaign to collect 50,000 signatures and submit them to the parliament as a public appeal so that the National Assembly will accept the project of holding a referendum on Brexit in Armenia. Tigran Khzmalyan, chairman of the European Party of Armenia and member of the Platform of Democratic Forces, told ArmLur.am that they intend to start collecting signatures in mid-August, as the process will take some time to complete. 45-60 days, and it is planned to be completed by the end of September.

The 50,000 signatures collected will be submitted to the National Assembly as a project demand for the Brexit referendum. It is precisely in the case of the Hayakvi plan, which was defeated in the National Assembly last year by the efforts of the ruling Communist Party.
