The 35th Heiva Artisans, or Heiva Rima’i, will be placed under the symbol of the Tahitian crown. From June 27 to July 14, about 100 artisans from the five archipelagos will demonstrate their skills at the Māma’o Exhibition Center, focusing on the most symbolic of all flowers, the fernua.
The day’s activities will include demonstrations, competitions, workshops, dance activities, music and food tastings.
Visitors can also enjoy participating in daily workshops and discover creations made during the competition, such as making tīfaifai, a one-meter-high fan, and even a bib necklace.
Demonstrations continue daily, culminating in the final weekend with a Polynesian Day, musical entertainment, and prize giving for all the contests.
The official dedication ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Māma’o Exposition Park.
Open to the public from 8:30am to 5:30pm daily.
