Libreville, Thursday, June 27, 2024 (Gabon Information) – On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the National Gendarmerie School in Owendo, the 16th National Curriculum Upgrade Internship Ceremony officially concluded. Transition by the President.
General Brice Clotaire Origi Nguema was keen to attend and speak to mark the aforementioned ceremony, reminding his godchildren that the mission of the gendarmerie includes ensuring and maintaining order, protecting territory, people and property, carrying out tasks in accordance with the law and regulations, and effectively combating smuggling violations.
All this without forgetting to respect hierarchy and to develop values of integrity and rigor. “Dear godchildren, to be a good gendarme, three qualities are necessary: integrity, working for the general good, the gendarme must have a sense of responsibility and know how to take responsibility, the ability to react when faced with difficulties, and the officer must know how to make the right decisions quickly. Like any army unit, the gendarmes have a hierarchy. The gendarmes must carry out the orders and tasks required,” he recalled.
The 16th class of the National Gendarmerie School Promotion is composed of 25 African officers, including 3 women, in particular: 19 Gabonese officers from different institutions of the defence and security forces, 4 officers from the Gendarmerie of Côte d’Ivoire and 2 officers from the Republic of Guinea Conakry.
As a pledge and congratulations from his godsons and administrators, the head of state donated 4 transport buses, 30 computers, 25 for the winners and 5 for the trainers.
