A woman from San Antonio, Texas, was arrested in Washington, D.C., on Friday for allegedly threatening former President Donald Trump after a gunman tried to assassinate him during a July 13 rally.

According to the London Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the agency received information about a suspect, identified as Christina Montoya, who had apparently traveled to the nation’s capital, and police found an unlicensed firearm and a magazine in her possession, KENS 5 Reported Friday. However, Trump was reportedly meeting with donors in the Hamptons on the day the woman was arrested.

The outlet said the type of threats she made to Trump were unclear, adding: “It was unclear exactly when she made those threats when she was arrested on Friday, but the police report listed a ‘crime start date’ of July 20, 2024.”

“MPD arrested Montoya less than a mile from Capitol Hill and about three miles from the White House, according to police reports. Authorities said she had a gun and magazine on her at the time,” the KENS 5 article said.
