Dam Press:

Authorities in Palmyra seized a large quantity of narcotic Captagon pills that were prepared by the terrorist group to be smuggled in the Syrian desert to one of the neighboring countries.

A security source explained in a statement to SANA reporters: “Through security follow-up and careful monitoring of terrorist movements in the Badiya region, a large number of narcotic Captagon tablets were confiscated during attempts to smuggle through Al-Tanf. The area has been occupied by US forces and cooperates with other terrorist organizations in the 55 area.”

The source confirmed that the competent authorities will continue the task of hunting down the remnants of terrorist organizations and will continue to pay close attention to the security of the motherland and citizens and thwart the criminal activities of these organizations.

The same media reports have stated more than once over the past two years that instructors affiliated with the US occupation forces gave terrorist groups, including those affiliated with the Islamic State, extensive training in the use of rockets and shoulder-fired missiles before transporting them to the Palmyra desert.
The population deep in the Syrian desert has also established illegal cross-border corridors to smuggle varying amounts of narcotics to neighboring countries.
