Jeeps Georgia is one of the leaders in the Georgian market for automotive satellite navigation and safety systems. The demand for modern, high-quality GPS monitoring systems installed on private and corporate vehicles is steadily growing. This is confirmed by the history and growth dynamics of Jeep Georgia. The company’s director, Giorgi Chugoshvili, together with his business partner, Rati Maglaferidze, acquired an existing company a few years ago. At that time, the company had about 700 objects and a monthly income of 30-35,000 GEL. Currently, the number of objects has increased to 12,000, with a monthly income of 200,000 GEL.
“A few years ago, together with our partners, we decided to acquire the company. We were short of some funds, and TBC helped us solve this problem. We have been through a difficult road, including during the pandemic, but the company has not stopped growing and developing.”
Jeep Georgia primarily serves corporate customers. “Large and medium-sized companies often have their own fleets – transport companies, car rental companies, pharmacies, distribution companies, etc. All companies with company vehicles obviously want to avoid unnecessary expenses. This means misuse of vehicles, theft of fuel, etc. Our main responsibility is to prevent all this.”
The company offers several types of products to its customers. The first is a GPS device that records information about the vehicle’s movement, speed, ride quality, braking, etc. It allows obtaining information about employees’ dishonest use of cars.
The second main product is the fuel sensor. The sensor is installed directly in the tank of large vehicles and measures the fuel filling, consumption and thus detects theft. In addition, the company provides driving, fuel consumption, temperature and humidity control for refrigerated vehicles (for example, vehicles of distribution companies that transport frozen goods and pharmacy vehicles responsible for constant temperature control in warehouses and branches as well as in vehicles).
Jeep Georgia also offers other products to customers, if desired, such as driver ID so the company knows exactly who is driving.
The business model is simple – customers buy equipment and then pay monthly for support services for each object.
“Lithuania is a leader in Europe when it comes to transport telematics (satellite monitoring of transport). We also have partners with Lithuanian companies – Teltonika (a manufacturer of GPS and various equipment) and Gurtam (a direct software supplier). So our equipment comes entirely from the EU. We also install the equipment ourselves – we have a mobile team that goes to the site, and in addition, we have signed a partnership with Tegeta Motors. Our installation network is the most sophisticated and fully covers the Georgian territory in real-time mode. Other companies have their own mobile teams, who arrive on site the next or third day after receiving a call, which is unacceptable for rental companies (we also have partners). Our operational capabilities are much greater, and this, among other things, is a factor that determines the market leadership.”
