Two Israeli Merkava tanks were destroyed today in the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood in southern Gaza, according to a statement released by the Qassam Brigades on its Telegram channel.
The statement said all Israeli soldiers on board the two tanks were killed or wounded in the attack, which took place near the 17th roundabout in Tal Al Hawa.
Qassam Group used improvised explosive devices adapted from unexploded missiles fired by Israel into Gaza.
The timing of the statement is particularly instructive because it came on the same day that the operation took place, the Israeli army acknowledged that it was facing shortages of tanks and ammunition in the Gaza war.
Here are the latest statements from Gaza’s two main resistance forces and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.
Qassam Brigades
“After returning from the battlefield, our fighters confirmed that the enemy exploded a missile on two Zionist Merkava tanks near the 17th roundabout in the Tal Hawa neighborhood in southern Gaza City, surrounding many occupation soldiers, killing and wounding occupation soldiers.”
