Former MP Palitha Range Bandara has denied claims that he was removed as the secretary general of the United National Party (UNP).
Bandara, in a press conference, insisted that all such claims in the media were false and that he intended to respond to them soon.

“Several newspapers and social media posts have claimed that I have been removed from the post of general secretary. I have not formally resigned from the post. Party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has not formally informed me that I have been removed from the post,”

Bandara urged all those who have made accusations against him to end their attacks within the next week and he hopes that responses to the accusations will be achieved in the near future.

“My family and I have been victims of political reprisals. I remind those responsible not to take revenge against my children. I may resign or be removed from office, but I will always be a member of the UNP,” Bandara said.
