Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas – The state of Tamaulipas ratified in a massive and powerful way all their support for this transformative project on election day, June 2. Governor Americo Villarreal Anaya said that with the victory of Claudia Scheinbaum Pardo, better times are coming for the State and the Federation’s collaboration.

“We must unite and call for unity to celebrate the victory of Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, because it is very good news for Mexico and for the state of Tamaulipas,” the governor said during a ceremony of civic honor this Monday.

“The electoral victory we achieved guarantees the sustainability of the historic transformation process we started in 2018, and today’s prospects are bright and positive, which rekindles our hope for the future and invites all of us to do our best to share their values and causes,” he added.

The President of Tamaulipas assured that the spectres of manipulation, vote buying and electoral fraud, institutionalized in recent years during the neoliberal era, have once again been overcome and eliminated from our coexistence.

“The peaceful, legal and legitimate replacement of executive and legislative power is the strong currency of our democracy, but the people also choose to continue along the same lines to achieve the project of a humane State that will continue to restore and respect the human being, civic, political and social,” he said.

He reported to members of the state cabinet and government agencies at the Victoria Polyforum that election day was orderly and civil, with a turnout of more than 57 per cent and 100 per cent compliance with polling station installation requirements.

“People of Tamaulipas, thank you once again for your political civilization, democratic maturity and respect for the heritage that we have preserved during our 200 years of being a free and sovereign State, a heritage that is the source of the unity of the republican institutions that sustain our coexistence,” he mentioned.

Villarreal Anaya thanked the 44,000 citizens who offered to serve as polling officials, before recognizing the electoral authorities and security forces who participated in the vote and remained vigilant to ensure respect for the constitution and democratic rights.

He added that the message from the polls is clear, which is that Mexico and Tamaulipas have decided to follow the path they began about six years ago.

“Now that the elections are behind us, we are ready to resume with full strength and capacity the final term of the government of Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and, starting next October, with the same social commitment and spirit, begin the construction of the second floor of our transformation,” he noted.

Before concluding his speech, the Governor of Tamaulipas assured that this date will be inscribed in the national anniversaries: “This is the day they will say: June 2, 2024, when a society committed to change and humanitarianism freely decided to produce the first woman president “from Mexico”.
