Cotton production in Syria has fallen significantly in recent years, with production in the Ghab Plain in Hama’s countryside falling from 65,000 tons in early 2011 to 530 tons last year. This has prompted farmers to abandon cultivation and switch to more profitable and lower-cost crops.
The newspaper noted that Al-Asi Gin in Hama and Tishreen Gin in Aleppo are the only gins currently operating in Syria, while the rest have ceased operations due to lack of supply. Production.
