A swimmer is feared to have drowned after being swept out to sea by strong currents near Scheveningen Harbour.
Three other people were pulled from the water and taken to hospital after getting into trouble around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
A witness told Omroep West that two boys emerged from the water with blood on their legs after trying to save their companion.
“The water was very rough and dangerous.” She said“The children almost died.”
Helicopters and boats searched the area around Zuidelijk Havenhoofd but were unable to find the missing people until around 10pm. Emergency services said they would decide on Monday whether to continue the search.
