A Swedish man is being treated for life-threatening injuries after he was attacked at Notting Hill Carnival in west London on Monday night, the Metropolitan Police said.

The Swede, who is in his 40s and lives in Dubai and works as a chef, was visiting London when he was found unconscious with a head injury shortly after leaving a nearby restaurant.

“Did you speak to him in the restaurant? Or do you have any photographs or video of the incident that could help the investigation? The attack happened at around 11.20pm. Guests inside attempted to intervene and we need to make contact with those people,” Metropolitan Police Commissioner Brian Howie said in a statement.
