BABANE – Talent n Motion award-winning dancer Ndoniyamanzi Luhlanga (11) said the Dance World Cup finals were tough but exciting.

The dancer said this yesterday at the Ngwenya border crossing, fresh from winning the silver medal in the final held in Prague, Czech Republic. The final started on June 26, 2024 and is scheduled to end on July 6, 2024. It is worth mentioning that she received a warm welcome from fans, relatives and proud parents. Ndonyamanzi said that the competition was tense, but everything was exciting for her. “The competition was tough but good, exciting and fun for me. I’m glad my family and friends came to welcome me and I’m grateful,” she said.

When asked how she felt about receiving the medal, she shared that she almost cried on stage. “I felt like I cried on stage because I was so happy,” she said. Her mother, Temalangeni Fakudze, said she was very proud of her daughter’s bravery. “I feel so proud and as a mother I am amazed to see what God has done. We are amazed and shocked by this achievement in our lives as parents, in the lives of Eswatini. I have supported her since day one until today. I will support her as a mother no matter what decision she makes,” she said.

When asked what she, as a mother, would like to say to parents to encourage them to give their children opportunities to explore their talents, she said that parents should support their children.
“I urge parents to support their children, if you support them, you will be very grateful in the future. So I urge every mother to support their children in whatever they are willing to do,” she said.

Ndoniyamanzi’s father, Moyitela Fakudze, echoed his wife’s words and thanked emaSwati for supporting their child during the competition. “We have been praying for her and we thank God because we have seen his strength. We are also grateful to all the emaSwati who have supported us, especially when they knocked on our doors for sponsorship. We even hope that other children will get this support,” said Moyitela. The talented dancer qualified for the finals at the South African competition earlier this year when she scored 77.5 points. Ndoniyamanzi has been dedicated to her craft since she was four years old.
