Maserati’s elegance and refinement do not stem from engine technology, but go beyond it. The new GranCabrio is a unique 2+2 in its class, as it can be a traditional petrol sports car with a charming sound, or an electric convertible in the Folgore version. In this sense, it is more unique than rare.
Regardless of the type of engine, however, design features are paramount. We tested both models along the roads along Lake Maggiore, a route full of history and charm.
Maserati Open Air Experience
The long bonnet, elegant and sober lines are the essence of the new model from the Trident brand. The GranCabrio research was carried out in parallel with the GranTurismo to maintain the stylistic features of both models and the balance between the aesthetic approach and functionality. Obviously, the convertible version is all about the open-air experience, allowing you to enjoy the wind in your hair on the road. The canvas soft top can be customized in five colors. The switch opens/closes at a speed of up to 50 km/h and can be operated via the car’s touchscreen. Closing takes 16 seconds and opening takes 14 seconds.
