We were not consulted and we are not signatories. We have nothing to do with this notification»About 75% of the crew members belong to the A Ti’a i Mua union. Therefore, if a strike occurs, it should be led by a minority of the National People’s Committee. In addition, the notice emphasized that the salary increase of 6% and the increase in bonuses were not agreed by the Secretary-General: “We are still finalising the end of conflict agreement for July 2023, where the pay rise has already been implemented”.
However, if the majority of unions at Air Tahiti and Air Moana signed the notices, then many employees and even union representatives would have read the notices in the media, since the union center could actually issue the notices without informing them in advance.
