Suriname police seek information on missing child ‘John Doe’

Police are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a young child who was found on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, in a house under construction at Gonrijpstraat 17, Paramaribo.

The child, now known as “John Doe” (a standard designation for unidentified persons), was found alone around 4:55 p.m.

To date, no personal information or family members are known.

– Ethnicity: Creole
– Skin color: Dark brown
– Hair: Curly, Black
– Physique: Slim

Police are urgently seeking information that may identify the child and his or her parents or relatives.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police Youth Affairs Department at 404679/404689, the Command Centre (CC) at 115, or the nearest police post.

The head of the major crime unit stressed the importance of this case and called on the community to work together to return the child safely to his family.
