On July 21, the State Border Guard reported that a man and a child crossed the Zilupe River on a SUP surfboard and illegally entered Russian territory. On the same day, a five-year-old girl from Riga, Monika Bukan, disappeared and, according to information from “Bezvests.lv”, she was probably taken to Russia by her father. The State Police (VP) confirmed to the portal “rus.delfi.lv” that this is the same case. The father of the missing Monika Bukan is the pro-Russian activist Stanislav Bukan.
