Prime Minister Mohammed Hijau al-Sudani and Lebanese Interior Minister Bassam al-Mawlaoui discussed security cooperation and intelligence coordination.
“Prime Minister Mohammed Hija al-Sudani received today Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Bassam Mawlawi and his accompanying delegation,” the Prime Minister’s Media Office said in a statement received by Alsumaria News.
He added: “During the meeting, all documents discussed security cooperation between Iraq and Lebanon, especially in relation to cross-border crime, and stressed the need for intelligence coordination to address security challenges, as well as cooperation related to the fight against terrorism and the recovery of funds and persons wanted by the Iraqi judiciary in security cases or corruption files.
“The meeting reviewed Lebanon’s participation in the Second Baghdad International Conference on Counter-Drugs and the importance of joint efforts to combat this scourge that threatens the security of all countries in the region and their societies,” he said.
