The final series of the German Pomares National Baseball Championship will run until September 20, the Nicaraguan Superior Baseball Committee reported Tuesday evening.
The statement stressed that the team must wait for the U-23 baseball team to return on September 18, as originally scheduled.
The semi-final series will be played uninterruptedly from September 20 to 26, the statement said.
Additionally, each team will field a full roster of 27 players for the match and must have four U-23 level players in the starting lineup.
Why did the series wait until September 20 to begin?
During a special session held today at the Nicaraguan Sports Institute, Chinandega said that three of his U-23 squad players will be at the World Cup, so they represent casualties of the squad.
To replace the three players, Chinandega called on the services of Cheslo Cuthbert, Dilmer Mejia and Christian Sandoval.
The Dantos did not accept the proposal and left the meeting.
Therefore, the fairest decision is to wait for the U-23 team to return and for all teams to complete their games.
