All first-year undergraduate students are welcome to attend campus Annual Admission and Welcome Ceremony Will Thursday, September 19 exist 5 p.m. This year’s awards ceremony will be held at the University of the West Indies Sport and Physical Education Centre (UWI SPEC).
Matriculation is the ceremony that formally admits first-year students to the academic community and membership of the university. Matriculate is derived from the late Latin matricula, meaning “register”. At the Matriculation ceremony, all first-year students sign the university register, take the academic oath, and are admitted as members of the Academic Council by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
First-year undergraduates are invited to attend along with a guest (parent, spouse, guardian, etc.).
