The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vietnam, in collaboration with the Export Development Board (EDB), is organizing Sri Lankan companies to participate in the 22nd International Medical, Hospital and Pharmaceutical Exhibition Vietnam Expo to be held from August 1 to 3, 2024 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.
Leading Sri Lankan pharmaceutical companies Astron Ltd, Morison Ltd and Gamma InterPharm (Pvt) Ltd are participating in the “MediPharm Expo 2024” for the first time to explore market opportunities in Vietnam.
The Sri Lanka Pavilion was inaugurated by Vu Tuan Cuong, Director of the Vietnam Food and Drug Administration, Nguyen Van Nga, Director of the Southern Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Pham Dang Khanh, Deputy General Manager of Vinexad, Tao Van Tinh, Chief Representative of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Le Dong Dung, President of the Vietnam Association of Aesthetic Internal Medicine (Vietnam Plastic Surgery Association), and Shirley Marguerite Hopman-Aluwihare, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Ho Chi Minh City.
During the three-day visit, Sri Lankan companies had the opportunity to visit the Hong Duc General Hospital No. 3 in Ho Chi Minh City and learn about the local hospital’s drug procurement system. In addition, the Embassy, together with the Business Network International (BNI) in Ho Chi Minh City, organized a networking event for Sri Lankan exhibitors, providing an opportunity to establish further exchanges with industry stakeholders.
During this period, the Sri Lankan company met with several potential distributors and importers and established strong contacts.
The Embassy’s Commercial Secretary, Kishani Wickramasinghe, arranged business meetings and networking activities for the Sri Lankan delegation.
