1047 Games showed off the first public demo of Splitgate 2 at Gamescom 2024, but fans around the world can join the closed alpha of the competitive shooter, which will be available from August 21st to 25th.

Additionally, a new action-packed trailer was released today for fans who want to get in on the 4v4 action.

Following the reveal of Splitgate 2 last week, the colorful faction-based shooter made a huge splash in Germany, opening its doors to fans with a fully-themed booth that promised the most immersive Splitgate experience yet.

But players don’t need to be at Gamescom to get in on the fun: those who want to check out the Alpha at home can sign up for a chance to do so by visiting the game’s Steam page Relevance.

The Closed Alpha includes two exciting modes – Hot Zone and Team Deathmatch – on three different maps (Ozone, Zenith and Frontier), giving players a first glimpse of its three factions. The Alpha phase has no time or game limits and is free to play.

If you didn’t know, the sequel is based on 1047 Games’ first hit game, which rebuilt Splitgate 2 from the ground up.

But…what is Splitgate 2 about?

Equip your suit and teleport into the action as an elite ace, choose from three factions, each with their own abilities to suit a variety of play styles. Combine them to form the ultimate team and play together in Splitgate 2’s fast-paced combat, unlocking new abilities throughout the experience.

Achieve victory with your team in a variety of futuristic maps and modes, level up, maximize your gear, and become the greatest expert on the leaderboard.

Splitgate 2 hopes to be the future of competitive online shooters, launching on PC via Steam and Epic, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 in 2025.
