The Lions Club of Aruba, our island’s popular service club that has served the community for over 75 years, recently received a kind support from the airline company, Southwest Airlines.
Southwest Airlines has several wheelchairs that are used to service passengers arriving or departing from Aruba who must use a wheelchair within the airport building.
The company has decided that it is time to replace these wheelchairs and has decided to donate eight (8) wheelchairs in good condition to the Lions Club of Aruba.
The Lions Club of Aruba is very grateful to Southwest Airlines for this wonderful gesture and is pleased that we can now continue to help more citizens in need.
Recently, the Aruba Lions Club has received a large number of requests for hospital beds and wheelchairs, but due to shortages, it is difficult to meet these needs in a short period of time.
The Aruba Lions Club is calling out to the community that for those who have an unused bed or wheelchair and would like to help a neighbor, please call the Aruba Lions Club at 582-1118 and they will pick it up for their project “Hospital Beds and Wheelchairs” and thus continue to help our community.
According to the registration information of the agency, there are a large number of beds and wheelchairs in the community that have not been returned after use and may have been transported to other addresses. We strongly urge you to contact the agency to register them at the new address so that you can update the registration form.
The Lions Club of Aruba is proud and pleased with its “Hospital Beds and Wheelchairs” program which has been a tremendous help to patients in our community for many years.
We thank Southwest Airlines again for this wonderful gesture and hope that more companies will follow this example in the future and help the Lions Club of Aruba serve our community.
