MOGADISHU (HOL) — Somalia’s new ambassador to Turkmenistan, Fatudin Ali Mohamed, formally presented his credentials on Wednesday as Somalia continues its efforts to expand its diplomatic influence. The ceremony took place at the Turkmen Parliament, where Turkmen Parliament Speaker Dunyagozer Gulmanova accepted the credentials on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mohammed was briefed on Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy strategies. Turkmenistan is known for its strategic neutrality and its foreign policy seeks to engage with all countries while avoiding involvement in regional conflicts. Ambassador Mohammed also learned about the structure and activities of Turkmenistan’s legislative body, the Parliament, which gave him a deeper understanding of the country’s governance.

Ambassador Mohammed hopes to strengthen economic ties, especially in infrastructure development.

Ambassador Mohammed Can also be used as The Special Envoy to Somalia, who was appointed in February, will continue to be based in Ankara.

Somalia’s recent moves highlight the current government’s strategy strengthen Expand its global influence and attract international support for its development goals.
