Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi received a Somali government delegation led by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamed in Cairo.
The leaders of Somalia and Egypt held several meetings to discuss how to reach an important agreement on defense and security cooperation between the two countries.
According to a press release issued by the Somali government, the two presidents jointly affirmed that defense cooperation between Somalia and Egypt is an important step to strengthen security and stability in the region.
The new defense agreement will pave the way for closer cooperation between the two countries’ defense and security ministries and agree to implement joint plans to strengthen Somalia’s defense and security capabilities.
The two leaders held a joint press conference after the meeting.
