Solos Technology Co., Ltd. held a summit on Friday to launch the artificial BroadCast Unitedligence (AI) smart glasses AirGo Vision in Hong Kong after launching the sports smart sunglasses AirGo 3. In addition to the lens in the frame, it also combines the new version of ChatGPT GPT-4o, allowing AI to analyze the information in front of the user in real time through visual input functions, such as identifying people and objects, location navigation, translating menus, shopping price comparison, or summarizing the key points in meetings, and taking pictures without manual operation.

AirGo Vision is charged via USB Type-C and has a battery life of up to 10 hours. In addition to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, you can also choose other large language models, such as Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and SenseTime (00020) SenseChat, etc. The reporter tested it on site. By connecting the smart glasses to the cloud via a mobile phone and then clicking the virtual button on the arm of the glasses, the user can use Cantonese voice or take a picture of the image in front of them to ask questions, such as checking the schedule of the America’s Cup or how to get to a designated location.

At the summit, Dr. Qinqiang Fan, Chairman of Solus Technology, gave the example that the Vision Pro eye mask developed by Apple is too heavy and looks like a helmet, and the battery only lasts for two hours, making it unsuitable for mobile use.

The smart glasses developed by the company (such as AirGo 3) have frames weighing only tens of grams, making them more comfortable to wear all day long. They also use the patented SmartHinge design, which allows the front frame of the glasses to be easily removed, making it convenient to change the style of the smart glasses.

AirGo Vision is scheduled to be launched later this year, with three styles of LED frames to be released in July. The official website price is US$249.99 (approximately HK$1,950).

Solus Technology was spun off from the US company Kopin Corporation in 2019 and established a research and development base in Shatin Science Park. Speaking of ChatGPT developer OpenAI’s discontinuation of API service support in China and Hong Kong in early July, Solus Technology General Manager Zhang Huiquan explained that the company’s servers are located in Singapore and are therefore not affected by the arrangement.
