In the recording, the soldiers appealed to the command, the military prosecutor’s office, the defense minister and President Putin. They claimed Their situation is desperate and this is their last chance to draw attention to their plight.
Medical documents showed the soldiers were injured and should be discharged and required rehabilitation, but they said none of those recommendations were implemented.
Soldiers also said they had not received promised veterans’ benefits, pay or compensation for injuries. Despite this, they still declared themselves ready to fight Ukraine.
In desperation, soldiers turn to Vladimir Putin
This is not the first time such an appeal has been made to the Russian command. In the past, Irkutsk soldiers who said they were unprepared for the attack also turned to Putin. As their appeals were ignored, many of them died or were seriously injured on the Donbass front.
Accounts from soldiers and their families confirm these allegations. The wife of a reservist told Radio Svoboda that her husband was wounded by shrapnel and he told her that almost no one from his regiment survived. Nevertheless, after a week of treatment, he will be sent to the front again.
