According to reports from Russia’s Volgograd Oblast Prison No. 19 on Friday, prisoners took hostages and some were injured, and rescue work is underway.

According to RIA Novosti, Russian Guard snipers successfully killed four prisoners who were holding prison staff hostage, and the hostages have been released.

The governor of Volgograd Oblast, Andrei Bocharov, said that the four injured staff members of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Administration have been hospitalized. According to preliminary statistics, a hostage situation occurred in the prison, resulting in one death.
